I received a webcam for Mother's Day after hearing about some of the uses an author could have with one. I've started a video blog on Youtube which will keep you up to date with news events, things going on with the author, updates that you won't find on the site, animal introductions and more.

As well, I will begin setting up appointments for video interviews and classroom story readings for anyone that is interested, through Skype. If you are a member of the press, a school or teacher and would like to set something up, please let me know through the contact link on the website or message me through the Facebook fan page. Thanks!

Blogs have already begun and are currently being uploaded onto Youtube, so stay tuned. We will be posting a video compilation for the blogs (as we have done with the previews and stuff), on our website. The blogs will be available on our About Us page, by the end of the day. If there is anything that you would like to see on these, please comment below.

Book # 3's Cover Completed

Pleased to announce that the cover is now complete for book # 3. This time, the cover will also be spanning to the back of the books (not shown here), thanks to Anastasia. A release date for the book has yet to be set, though we are planning for July. A video preview will be uploaded next month and you can learn more about the book on the Book Titles page. Stay tuned for a contest offer for a free copy of the book possibly next month as well!

Found a Lost Video of Freckles I

Very excited tonight! I've had a video from my old computer that I have been trying to access for over 3 years now. I thought it might be a video of Freckles I and I was right! After some fiddling, I managed to open it and format it for viewing! It is now on our Youtube channel, one of the few videos of Freckles I and the only one I can find at this time. It's very short and as I said, old, so it looks it. Hope you enjoy!

Book # 1 Wins Award

I meant to post this up a little while ago, but the flu and getting a little busy here kept me from doing so. I am pleased to announce that Freckles the Bunny Series, Book # 1: Freckles is Scared of School has won the Readers' Favorite 5 Star Award. We were presented with this seal to put on our books (we will be doing this as soon as we can).

I am very pleased and proud to have been awarded this seal. I have had many compliments on the writing from children, parents and teachers. It is very nice to be acknowledged in this way. Thank you!

Here is what was written about the book. I've also added a review page to the website that you can add your own reviews (please submit) or read others'.

“Freckles is Scared of School,” is book 1 in Vickianne Caswell’s 'Freckles the Bunny Series', and is an adorable start to a series that children will enjoy reading. Freckles loves playing and spending time at home with her mom; however, Freckles is suddenly told that she is going to be starting school the next day. Freckles does not want to go to school and has dreams about how awful it will be. However, when Freckles arrives at school, she realizes school is not what she was expecting it to be and she enjoys her day with her classmates. When it is time to go home at the end of the school day, Freckles does not want to leave, but she is reminded she will be able to come back the next day.

This is a cute story that discusses beginning school, an experience that many children are anxious about just as Freckles is. Young children will enjoy reading about Freckles and be comforted that school is not scary and it is really is an enjoyable experience. I love that the author uses her own pets from her childhood as the characters in the book; it is such a sweet idea! Also, the animals are all different and, therefore, they create a diverse classroom for Freckles. Children will be in a classroom with other children who are different from themselves and this allows for learning about others, but it can also be a scary or intimidating experience to find oneself with others who are different. Freckles met different animals and although they had different ways of doing things, they had an enjoyable day together as a class and friends.

Sherlock and I had a nice visit at the school today. He got to meet the grade 3 and 4 class. He also explored every inch of the classroom. He came in place of Freckles and will be in book 5, so stay tuned! We do have some videos of him on our Youtube Channel.

I changed things up a bit and hopefully improved the reading from last year! I am thinking of going this route with the Cherry Festival as I think it's a bit easier for me to ease into the story and relax a little. Everyone loved the stories, Sherlock and the presentation that went with it. I am looking forward to the opportunity to read to them again and perhaps some other schools in the area that may be interested.

Shutting down Ready Graph this weekend

Due to the fact that we have been getting some spam in our Ask Freckles emails, the fact that children that don't use Facebook are now coming to our site (we got our first fan send in a question!), that a possible lurker was noticed & it doesn't seem to be helping attract in people; we will be removing Ready Graph from our website this weekend. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. Thanks!

Freckles The Bunny Series We will be working on creating a newsletter sign up for those that want to be kept up to date but don't want to use Facebook, the website or RSS Feeds. If that is something you are interested in, please contact me. There is a possibility that we will include some stuff for the children as well.

If you are connected with facebook, you may want to remove your Ready Graph connection. Here is how:
1. Log in to Facebook.
2. Click the flower shape on the right upper part of the screen, next to your name, then home, then the lock symbol.
3. Choose Account Settings.
4. Choose Apps (General, then security & downward until you reach it).
5. You should see a list of some apps & you may need to click the link show all apps that is listed under them.
6. Look for ReadyGraph. Click the X across from it to remove & choose to check the box so that all activity is removed.

If you signed in through ReadyGraph itself, you will need to go & shut down your account.

If you do not do this, you will still be listed as a ReadyGraph user.
