Retiring a book isn't easy and that is what I am going to be doing. I've already begun the process for book # 5 and will soon retire the others as well. I want the books to be the best that they can be. Part of that was finding a new editor. A new editor isn't going to fix everything though. I want my books to be published in Canada, with a Canadian ISBN because I am from Canada. I want my books to feel Canadian and that is why I decided to retire my books. They will be online once again soon. I already have ISBNs available for them and they will slowly be removed and released. I will keep updating you on which books are going down. I don't think they will take all of the old reviews and place them on the new books so I will be sure to move them to the reviews page. This is an exciting time as I start a new company. Unfortunately, it also means my books will slow down for awhile. I know what some may be thinking. It took you a year to get this book out so how much slower can they be? I promise they won't take this long again. I needed time to heal and get used to living in this house once more. I am mostly my old self again and I can write so they will be sooner than this next book was. I haven't forgotten about the other books I was writing either. Many know we had a fire last year and have moved back into the house. We lost some rabbits as well and settling back in hasn't been easy. I haven't been able to write for some time due to this. We are slowly working to get book 6 done and continue on with the series'. I appreciate your patience and continued support! Freckles News "Freckles the Bunny Series, Book # 7: Freckles and the Big Book of Manners" is on hold for a short spell. The book is a bit time consuming and with temporary writing issues, this isn't the best book to be working on at this time. So that I am not taking 6 months to write (I've been on this one for at least 6 now), I've decided to do a short story book in between. I'd wanted to do separate books on some of the other characters before. This gives me the perfect chance to write on just her friends and their issues. The upcoming book is called, "Freckles' Short Stories, Volume 1." The first story in the book is about Boots' family. Many fans know that Boots' dad has been dating Purrsia. You also know that Purrsia has an adopted daughter named Potato, who is a hamster. The first story is about Purrsia and Mr. Cat's wedding. It goes through the experience and feelings of Boots and Potato who do not want them to get married. The first story is called, "A Cat Family Wedding" and is 14 pages long. This is just the first story in the book. I expect there to be at least 1 more. Sherlock News I haven't had much time to work on his books. They take a great deal of time, work and research to do. I do plan on getting his second book out this year. Hopefully this spring! In the meantime, I will share some photos of Sherlock and his new buddy Salem tonight. Salem will probably be written in to the Cat family at a later date or perhaps as a new friend. Be sure to check out the photo albums to view the photos. I've added 5 photos in the Real Sherlock album and 1 in his friends album for you. This is on Sherlock's website. Personal Sherlock update. Our Christmas tree spent a lot of it's time lop-sided and rolling along the wall because of all the wrestling the two kept doing. There are plenty of Sherlock stories to share with you so I will try doing that until the next Sherlock book is out. I know I was supposed to post pictures of the two foster cats that we took in for the holiday. Between last minute Christmas shopping and a death in the family, I just never got around to it. I am in the works of writing a new children's book entitled, "Through the Eyes of a Bunny." It will be less cartoon like then the other stories as it is meant to be seen with understanding and reality. The book will follow a rabbit's life through being bought at a pet shop to ending up in a shelter, to it's final home. I am hoping to not only teach children and parents about rabbits so that they think before buying but also teach them about the right way to care for them. Sadly, rabbits are often a discarded pet. I hope the book will be out for the New Year however I will be working out some of the details once the book is complete. I hope to have some news to share with you before the year is out. Freckles Update: Freckles' book should be coming out within a month or two. We've had to span them out due to Anastasia's schedule and my family moving back into our home. We plan to try and keep the books roughly 4 months apart as before. It will all depend on how long some of these are. Sherlock Update: I am still planning on having a second book out early this year (at least I plan to try). It will definitely be out before the end of this year. Deadline: November 15, 2014. 3. Submissions must be sent by email or through regular mail. 4. Pictures will be displayed online along with the child's first name, province/state and age. 5. All information below MUST be filled out to make the entry valid. We need to know where to send a book. 6. Make your "Stop Bullying" poster in the box provided below. 7. Any entries with personal information will not be valid! 8. Send entry via email or regular post. Mailing info is in the pdf. Winner receives a free copy of Freckles the Bunny Series, Book # 6: The Freckle Monster, a Freckles pencil, bookmark and a signed photo of the authors with Freckles (approx. 4x6 photo size). Runner up receives a free copy of the book and a bookmark. 
School & Library Readings
New Page There is a new page on the website, "Story Reading and Fundraising." These files, locations and more can be found on that page. I am still working on the fundraising and other stuff but it will be available there as well. Event Readings has partially been added as well.
It's that time of year again. School is starting and so much more! Sorry I haven't blogged updates here in a bit but we've been rushing to get back into our house. Some things have been moving far faster then we planned. We are hoping for everything to slow down after next month and for us all to be settled in. In the meantime, here are some updates now & some to expect over the next month or so for all 3 websites: Now: 1. Website I have finally managed to fix those pictures on Freckles' website. 2. School Visits in Your Area I've already posted which areas we will be looking at visiting. The school proposals will explain more but it is free even if we have visited your school before. Erika-Elizabeth's Blog As many know, Erika-Elizabeth is my daughter. She does the crafts for the books & video records them for children to do with her. She also does book reviews for me in her spare time (book reviews are on hold until we can get her computer down here). She has finally posted a second post and will continue to do so as the week progresses. Erika-Elizabeth has also co-authored Freckles' book # 6. 4. Expect new photos to be up & posted over the next while on the websites. 2. School Proposals I still need to update proposals for both series' for the schools before I contact them again this year. Freckles Book # 6 Pre-Order Special A pre-order special for Freckles the Bunny Series, Book # 6: The Freckle Monster, is being put together as we speak. This is the bullying book I have been talking about. The release date has yet to be decided but it will be out before Christmas. 4. Freckles the Bunny Series, Book # 6: The Freckle Monster Preview & Trailer We will be working on the trailer and preview for the upcoming book very soon so keep an eye out on the website & Youtube channel. 5. Bundle Deal A special bundle deal where you can buy a few books at a special price will be coming soon! This is just some of what is to come! I am very pleased to be able to say this. As of today, I am officially a Saskatchewan Writers' Guild member. I am listed on their website so be sure to check it out! Just one of the exciting bits of news I had promised.
