Another late find! :( Seems they were not all posting!

SHERLOCK NEWS:

Sherlock Book Update and Problems

We had some issues with pages being missing in the book. It is currently unavailable for purchase. Unfortunately, so are my copies until new ones come in. You can still pre-order though! I am now having troubles with Createspaces upload system which apparently doesn't like the series title inside the first page cover. This is being worked out and it will all hopefully be online soon. I will be sure to let you know! I will be sure to update you on the status though they've told me it could be a few business days.

Sherlock Contest Winner

The contest date has come to a close! The winner of a free copy of Sherlock's book is found on Sherlock's Facebook fan page. Congratulations! I will be sending you out a signed copy as soon as I get the new ones in.

Sherlock Merchandise

I am currently working on putting together some Sherlock merchandise so keep an eye out on the website and his fan page!

Freckles the Bunny Series and Rescues

Freckles the Bunny Series is about to place two of Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary's adoptables into the next book! This idea is courtesy of Anastasia Drogaitseva, my wonderful illustrator!

Freckles and the Cost of Popularity

We have already begun to work on book 5. Inside will be a few rescue animals as well as some people's pets (Pets in Books). This book will show you where Sherlock works and will lead us into book 6 (though you don't need 5 to read book 6). Stay tuned for a preview which will be out within a month.

Freckles the Bunny Series News

I just finished posting about Sherlock, now here is your Freckles news!

We are currently underway of working on Book # 5: Freckles and the Cost of Popularity.
Synopsis: Freckles has always been a good little bunny that was taught to be nice and caring towards others. The opportunity to be popular arises and Freckles soon finds herself choosing popularity over friends. Two classes get to go on a field trip to the local bakery where Boots' brother Sherlock works. Freckles has been told that Boots' family is not cool and weird. Freckles and her new friends are soon laughing at the bakery owner and Boots' family, costing Freckles her old friends. Join Freckles as she learns that being different is alright and that being popular doesn't mean you have to be mean, in another funny adventure. Guest appearances by Sherlock, a popular real animal and Purrsia, a character that will have your child looking to see what is stuck in her fur, in every illustration.
A couple of pets will be displayed in this book. This was from the package we donated to the Humboldt & District SPCA. It was two "Pets in Books" packages. We are still waiting to hear back from some rescues to place some of their hard to adopt animals in.

Weekend News

Vickianne Caswell has now signed up for a website called AuthorsdB. It lists some of her links and books. I am still learning how this site works, so additions may be slow.

The photo package that we donated to the Humboldt & District SPCA's online auction is already at $30! The people that had their pet put into the Christmas book were very happy, which makes us happy! These were done courtesy of Anastasia and myself.

Anastasia came up with the idea of helping rescued animals in need of homes, by listing them and drawing them in. We are both looking forward to doing this! If you are a rescue and would like to have your animals that are hard to adopt in our book, please contact us! While we charge for pets, rescues we will be doing for free.

Two reviews are already in and they are great for book 4! Be sure to check them out on the website!

Humboldt & District SPCA

As you may or may not know, for every createspace book order, I donate $1/book to the Humboldt & District SPCA. They are non-government funded and a no-kill shelter that services the area. Their commitment to the animals is remarkable!

Anastasia and I have some projects besides the books (some related and some not) in the works. One of them is the Pets in books that I have advertised about where you can pay to have your pet drawn into a book. We've set up some packages on the website and we will now also be donating $5 for every package sold! You can find this purchase in the "Package and Service Sales" page and more info in a pdf to download on the "Downloads to Share" page. We will now be accepting payments for this service.

Be sure to check out the Humboldt & District SPCA's online auction because we've donated one of these there! She should be adding it in there soon! Keep your eyes peeled in case we donate anything else to help them out!

We've added a donation button onto our page. Any money donated through it will go to them in hopes of raising funds for their new building that they are much in need of.

Rescue and Organization Help

Anastasia came up with a brilliant idea to help the animals that have a harder time finding forever homes. We will be using one of them to place in the books and their adoptable info! We hope to help them find a wonderful home this way and give them the second chance they deserve! We will not be charging them for this. If you know of a rescue that might be interested, please have them contact us.

Craft Time with Erika-Elizabeth page

We've started a craft series called "Craft Time with Erika-Elizabeth." It is found on Youtube (our channel) and our website. Erika-Elizabeth will be making crafts that your child can make along with her. We're at a slow start here but we will be adding more videos soon!

Erika-Elizabeth's Blog

Erika-Elizabeth has also started her own parent-approved blog. She wants to share some of her experiences as part of the Freckles team, as well as her experiences in bullying, etc. We felt that since she would be part of writing one on bullying, that other children may want to hear about her experiences.

Extended School Visits Date

Due to the fact that we still don't know when we will be returning, we have decided to extend our stay until December. If you know of a school interested in a free story reading, please have them contact me!

Wonderful Visit at St. Philip School

We had a wonderful time at St. Philip School here in Saskatoon and they were very kind to us! We enjoyed reading to them, speaking with everyone and especially enjoyed the questions that many of you asked!

Website Overhaul

I have now hidden almost every page except the main ones. A few were re-named (ex. the News blog is now "News Blog" instead of "News"). I have also replaced the Paypal buttons so that there are some better S&H prices, especially for books. I've also fixed it up so that you can purchase a t-shirt size easier and purchase services (you had to contact me before). This also enabled me to add some package deals. If you take a look around, you will also find a few price drops. One of them is the Pets in the Book package and the Child's Photo with the Freckles Character. Both make great Christmas presents!
